Supervisor OTP attendance

Use supervisor passcodes for controlled site-based clock-ins.

Supervisor OTP attendance lets an admin or scheduler issue a temporary passcode for a client and site. The employee uses the passcode to start a normal attendance record.

When to use it

  • A supervisor needs to control attendance at a site.
  • GPS or normal app flow is unreliable for the work context.
  • A manager wants the attendance record bound to a specific site.

Steps

  1. Open Timesheets.
  2. Use the supervisor OTP option.
  3. Choose the client and site.
  4. Choose a shift when the passcode should be tied to scheduled work.
  5. Create the passcode and share it with the employee who is present.
  6. The employee uses the passcode before it expires.
  7. The employee clocks out normally after work.

What good looks like

The passcode is used by the right employee for the intended client and site, and the resulting timesheet follows the normal review flow.

Common mistakes

  • Sharing one passcode too broadly.
  • Issuing a passcode for the wrong site.
  • Treating OTP as an approval shortcut instead of an attendance start method.
