Workspace setup and onboarding

Complete the first setup pass so BetterDesks can support scheduling, attendance, and payroll workflows.

Onboarding is where BetterDesks learns the operating basics for your organization. Complete this before building schedules or asking employees to clock in.

Before you start

  • Use an admin account with access to organization setup.
  • Confirm the legal or operating business name.
  • Know the main timezone, industry, and payroll cycle for the workspace.

Steps

  1. Open the onboarding page after verifying your account.
  2. Enter the organization profile details requested in the form.
  3. Choose the industry and employee count range that best fit the operation.
  4. Save the setup so the workspace can load the main application areas.
  5. Continue into settings to review attendance, payroll, and employee access defaults.

What good looks like

The workspace should route you into the application with a ready organization record, usable settings, and access to the core navigation.

Common mistakes

  • Starting schedule setup before onboarding is complete.
  • Using a timezone that does not match where most shifts are worked.
  • Leaving payroll and attendance settings for later when employees are already clocking in.
