BetterDesks works best when setup follows the same order as the operating model: organization, clients, sites, employees, schedule, attendance, then approvals.

Checklist

  1. Complete workspace onboarding.
  2. Review organization settings.
  3. Create external clients or confirm the internal client.
  4. Add sites for the locations where work happens.
  5. Configure site departments and shift templates.
  6. Add employees and choose who gets login access.
  7. Build the first schedule.
  8. Test clock-in, clock-out, and approval workflows.
  9. Review reports before running a payroll cycle.
