Clocking in and out
Record actual work time through BetterDesks attendance controls.
Clock-in and clock-out records create the timesheet evidence managers review later. Employees should use the attendance flow at the start and end of work.
Before you start
- The employee must have access to the workspace.
- The organization must allow employee clock-in and clock-out.
- If geofencing is enabled, the employee should allow location access.
Steps
- Open Timesheets or the employee timesheet area.
- Select the scheduled shift when BetterDesks can identify it.
- If prompted, choose the client and site for unscheduled work.
- Clock in at the start of the shift.
- Clock out when work ends.
- Review the submitted timesheet if corrections are needed before approval.
What good looks like
The timesheet should move from active work to a submitted record that managers can approve, reject, or reopen when needed.
Common mistakes
- Clocking in for the wrong site.
- Denying location access when geofencing is required.
- Forgetting to clock out and creating a missed clock-out exception.
