Missed clock-outs
Handle active timesheets when an employee forgets to end the shift.
A missed clock-out leaves a timesheet active after work should have ended. Managers should close these records with a defensible estimated end time.
Steps
- Open Timesheets.
- Filter or search for active records that should no longer be active.
- Open the timesheet that needs manager attention.
- Confirm the employee, site, and scheduled context.
- Enter the estimated clock-out time.
- Save the correction so the timesheet can continue through review.
What good looks like
The timesheet no longer remains active indefinitely, and the manager correction is visible as part of the review context.
Common mistakes
- Approving a timesheet before closing the missed clock-out.
- Guessing an end time without checking schedule or supervisor context.
- Asking employees to create a duplicate record instead of correcting the existing one.
