Can employees clock in offline?

Not currently. BetterDesks clock-ins require a live connection so the system can create the attendance record, apply location rules, and attach the punch to the right client, site, and shift.

BetterDesks supports remote and site-based attendance, but offline punch sync is not available today. Employees need connectivity when they clock in or out.

For sites where GPS is unreliable but an internet connection is available, managers can use supervisor OTP attendance. An admin or scheduler creates a temporary passcode for a selected client and site, and employees use it to start an attendance record.

If an employee misses a clock-out, an admin or scheduler can close the active timesheet with an estimated clock-out time. The timesheet then returns to the normal review flow.

A field crew works at a site where GPS is inconsistent but mobile data still works. Instead of relying on geofence enforcement, the supervisor creates an OTP passcode for the site. Workers use the passcode in BetterDesks, and their timesheets move through the same review and approval workflow as other attendance records.
